Procore Groundbreak brings together construction professionals, innovators, and industry leaders. For this citywide convention, 38 North Connections managed destination sourcing, convention center contracting, and multi-property room block operations designed to support Groundbreak’s growing national and international audience.
Groundbreak required a long-term strategy that protected its position as the world’s leading construction innovation conference. While U.S. attendance remains core, international participation continues to grow - requiring destinations aligned with attendee travel patterns, global flight access, visa feasibility, and proximity to Procore’s largest customer markets.
38NC developed a data-driven, multi-year sourcing model: identifying cities where Procore technologies were embedded in local or convention center development, conducting comparative flight and cost analysis, and stress-testing feasibility against Groundbreak’s growth roadmap.
The program required market selection that could stand up to multi-year growth in terms of space, inventory, and overall destination viability. On the operations side, Procore needed housing management that could adapt to shifting demand, including room block updates and expansions up to three days prior to arrival.
Key requirements included:
38NC leveraged its significant hospitality network and deep relationships to secure destination and hotel inventory for the next nine years - locking in availability, pricing advantages, and markets that match Groundbreak’s strategic trajectory. Through structured communication and hands-on management, 38NC kept blocks accurate, expanded inventory when needed, and maintained a consistent experience for all attendee groups.
This long-range model gives Procore a stable foundation for Groundbreak, supporting scale, financial efficiency, and future international growth.
