The 38NC Impact
The vision was a cruise ship. The execution needed to work for 969 people from around the world. That’s exactly the kind of challenge we love. OPSWAT wanted a Sales Kickoff that felt genuinely different — something their global team would still be talking about long after the event. We took the concept seriously, evaluated it honestly, and found something better: the Fairmont Monte Carlo, a landmark hotel architecturally designed in the shape of a cruise ship. Same energy. Zero operational compromise.
Project Overview
OPSWAT wanted to create a Sales Kickoff program that felt memorable while still meeting the needs of a large, global event. The leadership team was drawn to the idea of hosting the event aboard a cruise ship, seeing it as a way to create energy, immersion, and a different kind of experience for the sales team.
Given the size of the program and the international makeup of the attendee group, the concept needed careful review across logistics, accessibility, and meeting space requirements. We were brought in to evaluate the idea, test feasibility, and help shape a workable path forward.
The Challenge
Cruise-based venues created real constraints for a program of this size. Departure logistics, international travel coordination, and limitations around meeting space all introduced risk.
The challenge was to preserve the spirit of the leadership team’s vision while identifying a solution that could support the operational needs of the program, the attendee experience, and the broader goals of the event.
How We Helped
We evaluated multiple cruise and destination-based options, identifying limitations early and presenting alternatives grounded in experience and feasibility.
That process led us to the Fairmont Monte Carlo, a one-of-a-kind hotel designed in the shape of a cruise ship. It delivered the same experiential feel the client wanted, while offering the scale, meeting space, and international accessibility required for a global Sales Kickoff.
